Concept development for stationary energy storage systems

One focus of the work at Fraunhofer ZESS is the development of concepts for stationary energy storage systems such as sodium-nickel chloride batteries. This includes careful application analysis, patent and technology research, and the development of intelligent operating, design, and testing concepts. Another area of expertise is the combination of battery technologies with photovoltaics or fuel cells, for example, to create hybrid systems. If individual components or stationary battery systems need to be industrialized, Fraunhofer ZESS can also provide support in the development of plant concepts.
