POWERPASTE, an invention by Fraunhofer IFAM, is a chemical hydrogen storage medium with extremely high storage density for PEM fuel cell applications. POWERPASTE generates gaseous hydrogen upon contact with water.
At Fraunhofer ZESS, the synthesis of POWERPASTE is being tested and researched on a pilot plant scale in order to demonstrate for the first time the scalability of the material synthesis towards industrialization.
